"Are you struggling to believe there is a purpose for your life, that you can make sense of what seems like a mess? Struggling to believe that there is someone – anyone – who cares about you? Struggling
to believe that after all you’ve been through, seen, or done that there is a chance you’ll ever find peace and wholeness again? As a little girl growing up in a post-USSR Ukrainian iron mining town, Lena spent her life grappling with these same questions.
This raw, transparent account of her life chronicles the years she spent running – running from a broken family, broken country, and broken dreams – in pursuit of something or someone who could calm the hopeless nightmare that her life had become. Drug addicted, alcohol dependent, and twice trafficked to foreign countries, she still had glimpses of what her life could be and kept chasing the elusive peace she constantly craved.
However, on the other side of each empty promise of fulfillment she only every found more pain until one day, one promise checked out. Lena met someone who showed her she didn’t have to run anymore. Miraculous is a story of the storm before the calm, a journey from pain to healing. It is Lena’s story, but it could be yours, too.

Within Butcher's new book, Our Faithful Queen:
70 Years of Faith & Service, she shares direct quotes from the Queen regarding her faith.
"I know just how much I rely on my faith to guide me through the good times and the bad," the Queen said during a speech in 1981. "Each day is a new beginning. I know that the only way to live my life is to try to do what is right, to take the long view, to give of my best in all that the day brings, and to put my trust in God!"
In 2011, the monarch spoke of forgiveness.
"Forgiveness lies at the heart of the Christian faith. It can heal broken families, it can restore friendships and it can reconcile divided communities. It is in forgiveness that we feel the power of God’s love."
Although we are capable of great acts of kindness, history teaches us that we sometimes need saving from ourselves – from our recklessness or our greed. God sent into the world a unique person – neither a philosopher nor a general (important though they are) – but a Saviour, with the power to forgive."

Alpha is a multi-week course that creates a space, online or in person, where people come and discuss life’s big questions in a friendly, open and informal environment.
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: connection, content, and conversation.
