RED FLAGS & RESOURCES

I would never have imagined that, after 20 years of silence, I would be standing on stage in front of hundreds of people and that my story would be broadcasted all over social media. In the past I was afraid of judgement and rejection. I thought it was a story of guilt, shame, and condemnation but now I know… it’s God’s story of Salvation.

Do you know what human trafficking really is? Human trafficking is modern-day slavery, recruitment and exercising control over a person to exploit them, through sexual or forced labor. It’s commonly thought the buying and selling of people is something of the past. But in fact, there ARE more people trafficked today than ANYTIME in HUMAN history.

Let me identify a few specific signs to watch for. RED FLAGS for people who

being GROOMED for sex trafficking:

  •  withdrawing from family and friends
  • being secretive about their activities
  • or having new clothing and jewelry that they cannot afford to buy

Victims of human trafficking are:

  • fearful, anxious, depressed, submissive, tense, nervous or paranoid
  • showing signs of abuse such as bruising, fractures
  • or tattoos of branding symbols specifically names

Now that you know that and obviously… just because it’s a red flag, it might not be a human trafficking situation, but it could be,  so don’t dismiss anything, be vigilant, ask questions. If there is immediate danger or if you suspect a person is being trafficked, call 911 OR your local police service. You might save someone’s life.
